In 2020 the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) participated for the first time in the Telepizza Excellence Lab; an international competition organized by the Telepizza Group for advertising students from numerous Spanish-speaking universities across the world. There were more than twenty taking part in this initiative, but only six universities could be the ones going into the final round.
The challenge was to come up with an initiative to contribute to any of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We wanted something that would last over time: A structural change, not just a hollow action. This is how we came up with a campaign we called Crezzendo. Aimed at reducing inequalities, we wanted to strengthen and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all people.
Crezzendo is an update of the Telepizza app that enables an integration with Siri and Google Assistant. Thanks to an API, any visually impaired person can simply order a pizza using their voice. The idea was brilliant and really simple at the same time, since all the AI technology and algorithms in speech recognition were in charge of Apple and Google, we just took them and applied it to Telepizza
